Additionally, when you book your flight, your cost is now locked in. In the rare event that a replacement aircraft is needed, BlueSky will cover the cost difference.

Sapphire Plus members are entitled to all privileges of Sapphire Membership, in addition to complimentary mechanical recovery protection (on qualifying flights).

Mechanical recovery protection covers any difference in cost to secure a replacement aircraft in the event that a contracted aircraft is unable to perform a flight. Mechanical recovery protection applies to all domestic flights with a purchase price up to $75,000. Departure times and type of replacement aircraft offered will be based on aircraft availability at the time of the event. Members have the option to accept or decline replacement aircraft offered. If the member declines the replacement aircraft offered, the member’s account will be credited for the full amount of the originally contracted aircraft.

An initial deposit of $100,000 is required to establish the account and the account must be replenished to the original balance once the account falls to $20,000. Failure to replenish the account will result in the temporary suspension of Sapphire Plus benefits. There is no cost associated with this program. Funds can only be used for flight, flight related or member expenses.

Sapphire Plus coverage is limited to domestic routings. Sapphire Plus coverage is suspended during peak travel dates, times of national emergency or natural disasters.
